In 2018, I travelled to Scandinavia, the USA and Canada, to explore how science outreach and environmental groups tell their story. From puppet shows and radio programs to super-sized mascots, I discovered how organisations outside Australia combine science communication and creativity.
I interviewed media and communications staff from 23 prestigious organisations, including the Smithsonian Institute, Monterey Aquarium, Rare, The Nature Conservancy and the David Suzuki Foundation. Curious? You can read my report here!
My fellowship was funded by the George Alexander Foundation and the International Specialised Skills Institute. I'm grateful to GAF and ISSI for enabling me to bring together three loves: science, storytelling and art.
